Learner Guidance

Learner Guidance & Welfare

With a range of guidance and support services, we aim to help youmake the very most of your time at College and to progress successfully towards your chosen career.

Learner Guidance and Advice (LGA)

The LGA co-ordinator can help you to choose the right course, taking into account your career aims and all the factors that are likely to be of concern when making a decision about coming to College, such as the financial aspects of being a learner as well as practical issues such as Childcare. While you are on course the LGA coordinator works with other staff to provide a general welfare and advice service to help you to cope with the highs and lows of College life and to prepare for your next career move after leaving us.

For a friendly informal discussion about your future study plans contact the LGA Co-ordinator on

0141 565 2551 or email ae.traill@gcns.ac.uk.

Guidance Tutors

Guidance Tutors are allocated to every course to support and guide learners through their studies. Regular reviews give the opportunity to discus progress and deal with any concerns as they arise throughout the year.

Racial Equality Advisor

The Racial Equality Advisor offers information, guidance and counselling to ethnic minority and international learners on a wide range of religious, cultural, welfare and personal issues.
