Launch of the ITS Glasgow Safety DVD "Stay Safe Scotland"
Friday 14 May 2010
Produced in collaboration with Drama and Media students and staff at Glasgow College of Nautical Studies, the new ITS Glasgow Safety DVD is designed to highlight important areas of safety in day-to-day life. It conveys safety information non-verbally so the message can be understood without using language.
The ITS Glasgow project is designed to promote learning about safety issues through English language (ESOL) lessons and peer education and comprises representation from Strathclyde Fire and Rescue, NHS Greater Glasgow And Clyde, and Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.

1000 copies will be released and distributed among schools, colleges, libraries, housing associations and other agencies. The DVD is designed to be used along with the ESOL and Peer Educator Packs or as a stand alone community safety resource and encompasses issues of fire safety, home safety, child safety and personal safety.
As well as in hard copy, the ESOL packs are now available as a free national resource on the National ESOL website: www.esolscotland.com
The new ITS Glasgow Safety DVD "Stay Safe Scotland" will also be hosted online as a free streaming or downloadable resource.
